About Us
The RLA firm is known for creative unique design solutions while still respecting client budgetary constraints.
Our studio is Apple/Macintosh based using the most current architectural design software available.
Projects are sketched and then modelled using BIM software where they are 'virtually constructed' using 3D Modelling and Rendering illustration software.
We are excited to provide the client with an experiential design process. The design can be experienced both from a exterior massing, site environmental context as well as provide walk-throughs and views demonstrating interior spatial dynamics. These models can be developed simply as design tools or elaborated and used as presentation materials for community associations and City planning departments.
RLA is licensed to perform architectural design in Canada's western area including the provinces of Alberta and British Columbia.
Your Team
Principal Architect Roger LeBlanc, a former partner of BCW Architects, has over 32 years of local architectural and planning experience on a wide range of projects.
RLA provides the client with a small firm experience and service while having big firm capabilities. This typically allows us to control the design of your building and schedule to complete it more efficiently. Roger will be your project team lead from conception to construction completion and beyond. Most of our clients end up as friends by the completion of projects and we treat them that way! This is why most are repeat clients having established a friendly working relationship. Some have been clients for over 20 years now!
We approach all of our designs as a collaborative professional team. Qualified team members are selected based on their abilities applicable to your particular project requirements.
Team members may sometimes be remotely located, many times operating from their own studios; some local, others from adjacent provinces or further; especially if your project is outside of the Calgary and southern Alberta area. Our experience concludes that this tactic not only provides a better continuity of service during the design and construction of your project but ultimately can save you design fees and additional costs during construction.
All required engineering is performed by professional registered engineers, local to where the work will be constructed whenever possible. Our experience indicates that proximity to site allows the most fluent and expeditious transmission of design information both during design and during construction review services.
